Business park is almost full

LIVERPOOL International Business Park is almost full after owner Peel Holdings sold 15 acres to three new tenants.

The developer, which also owns the neighbouring Liverpool John Lennon airport, Mersey Docks and the Trafford Centre, has now sold 145.9 acres of the original 157 acres of land it bought over two years ago.

It is estimated that the latest 15-acre sale will help create nearly 1,500 jobs between the three new occupiers. The park will create a total of 9,000 jobs.

The new tenants are Braidwater, a privately owned commercial and regeneration company who have taken nearly 10 acres of land, Workpods, an associated company of northern-based developer Burford Park Estates offering purpose-built high-quality office accommodation who have taken three acres, and a private investor which has taken 2.3 acres.

Situated next to Speke’s fast growing Liverpool JLA and in close proximity to the motorway network its location has played a large part in the success of the park.

Peel Holdings senior development surveyor Roger Wheeldon said: “We are extremely pleased to have had such strong and continuing interest in the park over the past couple of years, and are confident that this enthusiasm will continue for the remaining 11 acres.”

Braidwater development director Patrick McGinnis added: “Merseyside is proving to be a very rewarding area for Braidwater in terms of growth.

“Liverpool International Business Park will be our second commercial development in the UK to take shape in the past 12 months, our first being Paramount Business Park in Huyton which has been a resounding success.

“We are now really excited and eager to progress with our plans for Liverpool International Business Park as soon as we can.”

Charles Cudworth, Workpods development director, said: “We feel our small “front door” office units will provide an excellent complement to the accommodation available.”
